Last month I found this plan in my bible app titled “gradual goodbye” by Welby O’Brien. When I read it, it took me back to what our family had to fight through up to last year. The lost of our dad has made this part, ”the gradual goodbye”, felt insignificant, hidden, and buried deep under; but in fact it is not, the messy middle between the start and the end of something is where . . . . .

I had on some occasions been tempted to quit due to trials in the form of conflict (usually involves others grating against my character) or crisis (situations that I cannot control) or isolation (being set aside for a time) or betrayal/rejection (painful . . . . .

In my earlier years as a Christian, when a challenge hit my life, I find myself saying, “Lord, why is this happening to me?” However, as years progressed and I learned to behold more of Jesus through His Word, I find myself saying, “Lord, this battle belongs to You”, whenever a crisis or a challenge face me.

Choosing a life that follows God’s calling isn’t an easy path. It is perhaps one of the most difficult paths you can choose to take in life. But, on the other side of it, this is the most rewarding, fulfilling and joyful adventure you can ever choose for your life to take course. I have made that decision since a few years back, and here are 3 biggest things I’ve learned throughout my journey:

Imagine you are a commander in chief ready for battle. You have all your horses and chariots ready. Your spears are sharpened, your swords are tapered. Everyone with their game face on. But you find out that the enemy you are about to go up against is the strongest nation the world has ever known. They have the most advanced weapons and the most ruthless soldiers. They are known to be undefeated.
